Goin’ Freeze Crazy!

Welcome back, everyone! I want to tell you a little story and share some recipes! I love making frozen dog treats for some reason. I hate baking because I almost always get it wrong, but there is no going wrong with frozen treats!

So I went a little freeze crazy one day, and this is what I came up with!

Dog Bone Delight

When Maeve was a little tiny puppy, I made her frozen dog bones, and she loved them. I used a dog-bone shaped mold for them. They are super easy to make because you can use almost anything! Chopped up strawberries, blueberries, raspberries – you can do it all! I love using applesauce and plain yogurt. If you use yogurt, just keep in mind little yellow flecks will appear in it after being frozen. I’m guessing it is just separated fat, and it didn’t seem to cause any issues. Also note that peanut butter will never fully freeze, so I don’t like to use it. Feel free to get creative and try freezing as many different things as possible!

Yogurt Covered Blueberries

I really wanted to do something fancy-looking for the rest of the frozen treats. For these, I used whole frozen blueberries (fresh probably could work too) and rolled them in yogurt. They take forever to make, but they look so pretty in the end!

Blueberry Yogurt Bark

This was really fun and easy. II just spread out yogurt on a paper plate and sprinkled in the blueberries. Cutting it out with a knife afterwards was a little dangerous, but the pretty look was worth it!

“Chocolate” covered strawberries

This one was fun yet it felt like “Mission Impossible”. I drizzled the yogurt on, but next time I’d probably be traditional and dip it straight in. If you would like, you could make some purple dye by soaking frozen blueberries in water, and then add that water to some yogurt to add the lines you’d see in most chocolate covered strawberries.

Well, thanks for joining me on my mission of going Freeze Crazy. If you don’t mind, I have to check on a frozen kong that is in the freezer. There’s an adorable puppy waiting on me. She’s hungry and she deserves a treat.
